The Republican Party of Dane County received a prestigious Wisconsin Award at the Republican Party of Wisconsin’s annual state convention in La Crosse this past weekend.  The Wisconsin Award is one of the highest awards a county party can receive.  Growing membership, participation in local parades and fairs, and regularly holding forums on currents issues are just a few of the activities Dane County Republican did to qualify for the award.

In addition to receiving the Wisconsin Award, Dane County was also recognized as one of the top five county parties in all of Wisconsin.  County Chair Scott Grabins received this award on behalf of local members.  “I’m very proud to accept this award on behalf of all the hard-working Republicans in Dane County,” Grabins said.  He added, “Our Republican Party of Dane County members believe in sharing their beliefs, thoughts, and views and work hard to make all of our local communities better places to live and work," said County Chair Grabins.

"We participate by testifying before governmental bodies, legal entries, committees and forums on numerous issues that impact the everyday lives of all of our citizens regardless of their party affiliations."  Grabins continued.  “It is because we are involved and make our voices heard that we have seen a growth in our membership numbers and overall volunteer involvement."

In conclusion, Grabins pointed out: "We are a party of diverse and yet positive ideas and believe that for a strong democracy we must involve ourselves individually and collectively to move the county, state and nation forward, and that all begins on the local level."
