As the November 30th deadline for submission of party-nominated poll workers looms the City of Madison has declared a new requirement that all poll workers must be completely Covid -19 vaccinated. Republican Party of Dane County (RPDC) Chairman Scott Grabins questions the legality of this move. “We have been working diligently for months to identify people interested and committed to becoming poll workers throughout Dane County. Now in the eleventh hour, the Madison City Clerk seems to want to limit those lists by issuing this mandate.” Grabins stated.
”We seriously question the legality of this move as the requirements for poll workers are clearly defined by State Statues. We will not allow this last-minute tactic deter our efforts, as we intend to continue to gather the names of those interested in guaranteeing election integrity and will not be a party to collecting anyone’s personal health information,” Grabins continued.
“Rest assured that RPDC will not allow potential poll workers to be intimidated by the City of Madison. Vaccination status should not be a requirement for anyone to participate in the free and fair execution of elections in the State of Wisconsin. This is not the first, or likely the last, time that Madison has created their own special rules to try to affect an election,” Grabins concluded.
